Twas the Knits Before Christmas…

Knitting the story of Santa Claus

Fiona Goble

"… Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse." Clement Clarke Moore s evocative 1822 poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" helped to define the story of Santa Claus and has itself has become part of the Christmas tradition in many houses. Twas the Knits Before Christmas celebrates Moore s poem by presenting it alongside 10 knitting patterns for the characters and props from the story.

Fiona Goble has published three books on making soft toys and has a forthcoming book on contemporary needlepoint.
